Bobby Flay is a chef-cook. Many times, when someone reaches a high priority in their careers, they lose a part of what they felt. Not so in this case!
My daughter and I were on a whirlwind 2 days trip to the Big Apple. We had wanted a special dinner to cap a wonderful, exhausting two landmark celebration of the birthday (she had just turned 25 and I am) the crossroads after the big 50 at the end of the year. We have noticed that in the Bar AmericainStreet from our hotel. We were fortunate to brunch at Flay's Mesa Grill in Las Vegas, we have the luxury brasserie had hoped would be our first experience in competition.
We were not disappointed. The atmosphere is very elegant and quiet. Warm wood walls, marble floors and dim lighting. The high ceilings and the loft has a feel for 1940's dinner club. Even when we went to six hours, which is quite early for a dinner in New York, there were a few parties. Sitting Our server is informed when he heard about my milk allergy, he had to bring a bus boy in a basket from just outside the oven "safe" bread and drink that promised to be back with dinner suggestions.
He kept his word! Within five minutes of our tuxedo-clad servers, let me know which dishes can be prepared for fun. Select My daughter, who had the good fortune, something on the menu was a house favorite: a double rack of pork with appleButter and figs and a balsamic sauce, which included reducing smashed potatoes with goat cheese. The pig has been marinated in brine for 30 hours and was pink, juicy, and my daughter was the best thing they ever Pork Chop and loved ever bite Leaflet.
I had my choice of wild salmon (without the port reduction) or red snapper in Florida inspired crusted banana and covered with a lush and refreshing mango, avocado and corn salsabased on a black bean puree. If my husband who does not care for snapper, it was a court, would have enjoyed it as I, the plane was very thinly sliced on a mandoline into slices, and was just enough to wet the fish a perfect crunch.
For our mains, we had in the signature is a shared appetizer Flay's Spicy Tuna Tartare. We wanted to see if he uses the same recipe as his Mesa Grill. It was very similar, but not as sharp. The elegant SuitableEnvironment. Season the tuna was melt in your mouth fresh, cold with capers and cayenne pepper.
My daughter loves tiramisu and saw someone on a nearby table with a part and groaning with pleasure. It announced its intention to have one. However, by the time we share the appetizers and they enjoyed every bite of her main course, dessert, she declared officially out!
We can not have been able to see a Broadway show during our storm at the weekend, but Bobby Flay's Bar Americaina wonderful piece of unforgettable culinary theater.
